My path to building custom 1911 pistols began long before Master Gunworks existed. I’ve been drawn to the mechanics of firearms since childhood, but the 1911 has always stood apart — a design where precision, simplicity, and complexity meet in perfect balance.

I originally planned to attend gunsmithing school, but life steered me into the world of Machine Tool. That detour became foundational. Under the guidance of a former gunsmith, I learned the discipline, geometry, and mechanical understanding that would shape my work for decades to come.

After earning my technical degree, I completed a demanding tool & die apprenticeship and spent years as a Tool & Die Maker while gunsmithing during off‑hours. The precision required in industrial tooling directly influenced the way I approach every 1911 I build today.

My career later expanded into running my own machine shop and working extensively within the firearms industry. I also served in law enforcement in multiple roles, including as a certified firearms instructor — an experience that deepened my understanding of how a pistol must perform in the real world.

Eventually, I opened a full‑service gun and gunsmith shop. The work was steady and diverse, but the 1911 continued to call to me. Over time, I realized that my true focus needed to be on building these pistols with the level of precision and identity that reflects my background and philosophy.

Today, I am dedicated exclusively to crafting custom 1911 pistols by hand. Each build is approached with the same discipline I learned in tool & die: controlled geometry, clean execution, and mechanical integrity. To me, a 1911 is more than a firearm — it is a piece of functional craftsmanship that carries the maker’s identity in every detail.
